BEFORE - AFTER: Kids
Honestly, what difference can I really make?
How many times have you seen images or news stories about groups of people who are clearly suffering in the world, but immediately felt completely helpless to change anything?
No doubt about it, there is a lot wrong with our system and our disconnected and fragmented society. We are made to feel small and helpless, as if we are all somehow at the mercy of forces beyond our influence.
“You simply can’t change the world.” People tell us over and over again.
“It’s just too complicated, you can never make a difference.” We are told.
But this is not the whole truth.
One of the greatest and most vital parts about being a human being is the ability to show love – simply, honestly and unconditionally. As a species, we might be a long way from uniting and acting for the common good of all life on the planet, but that doesn’t mean that we are helpless.
As compassionate beings we have immense power.
Every time we decide to think a good thought, or perform some small act of kindness, we are adding impetus to change. Real problems are solved one at a time. Children are helped one by one, by means of simple, seemingly insignificant and small actions. Each tiny kindness adds up.
With the proper motivation, even very limited resources can go a long, long way.
